What do you mean why Because it's friendly to the environment, it's not built to look better than the bikes on the road, it's built to save our planet.

Think of the bigger picture.
No !! Its Fugly !!

my painted pedal bike would beat that off the lights no probs.

Have to agree, It is hideous and so, so, slow! Would anyone really enjoy being constantly beaten off the lights by micras and the like?
Where would be the fun in that?
Overtaking would take aeons, in fact it'd be unsafe so you'd be better off sitting in traffic in a car, nice & comfy, listening to Peter Paul & Mary.

I am astounded by the level selfish views on this issue.

I hope cars and lorries are the next step with this technology, but this is a great start.

That's not much worse performance than something like a CG. The range on a top up isn't that great, but a CG isn't very good for doing journies longer than 100 miles, anyway, trust me.
I'd say this is absolutely perfect for replacing small bikes that make short journies. Maybe one day they'll make these units good enough to power a decent sized bike.

An excellent machine for busy cities I'd imagine, given the problems of localised polution and such. Useless for anything else mind, but could have an important part to play.

Exactly. I think it's a good replacement of the scooter. At least you wont get the whining noise when the kids riding them flick the throttle... guys, you don't have gears, you don't need to do that.... I hate them so much

Theres an article about it in this weeks MCN I think it looks pretty good, definately a great idea for short commutes in a city / around town

I'm personally not sure about the styling, but its definately growing on me and its certainly a different look to scoot's which all look the same

Why be a sheep after all

Wonder how long before they develop the technology and release a bigger version which offers more power

I don't like the style of this, but it's progress in the right direction. British too.

i'm sure you'd be able to make it look like an SV

then you'd ride it!!

The BBC says"Concerns were raised that the motorcycle was too silent and might not be noticed by other traffic and pedestrians."

does that mean cyclists now have to ride ther bikes making "vroom vroom" noises?
