Hmm for me it'd have to be the 5 spoke BlackStoneTek (BST) carbon wheels, or the chrome Galespeed 10 spokers...

Oh to dream.......

Fear not. Found the link I put up on SVrider. Feast your eyes... but please bear in mind that since then I've had the mirrors and clock surround colour matched silver as well:

Problem seems to be that most aftermarket wheels atart at 5.25" rear rims and get bigger where as the SV needs a 4.5" rim.

Ah yes, I remember your bike - it's the cans that gave it away

Look forward to further mods - keep at it.

Hmmm.

Well im sad to say that I don't like the bike. It's not the style I go for, but personalising a bike is all about making a bike to your own style so fair enough.

I do however think that the idea of a trellis swingarm is pure genius, and I'm kicking myself for not thinking of it before you!

So, I bagsy the idea of having a polished polygon engineering tubular aluminium single sider. Mmmmm Yummy.

Default making a CHAV bike

I think that sometimes "modifications" are unnecessary. I know that its personal choice whether or not you like a bike, but the amount of money people put into modifying bikes or cars not only makes the item depreciate faster (not being as desireable) but the money that they spend on the mods could go towards a better bike (ie. GSXR 600/750. or sv1000 etc...) that in turn they could be alot happier with!

Secondly the aftermarket acessories that people stick on their bikes, usually are poor quality - plastics for instance - are produced as far away for as little as possible becasue we as the general public are drawn to low prices more than anything else (most of the time they dont even suit the bike). Another example - is manufacturers standard wheels - people under estimate the quality of these as they are not painted neon yellow/have stickers/or are carbon fibre! Compaines like suzuki invest alot of time and money to get the best component for the job inculding the casting of their wheels. Compaines like OZ : yes = might make superior wheels - but you can be assured that their product lifespan is 1/2 that of a standard wheel as being a racing product, they are disposed of before they reach the 10,000 mile mark.

My point is simple - look beyond the world of stick on acessories that companies mass produce for our convenience. Anyone that spends over a grand for a pair of carbon wheels for a glorified sports tourer - that is popular with girls and learners needs their heads examined!
I drive an 03' SV650S and i am more than pleased with it. Infact i even have a full micron exhaust system!!

Instead of Lusting after a cheap bit of plastic or "carbon fibre" stick-on accessory, just think: do i need it - will it make me happier or want more?
can i do without it or should i just save my pennies and buy a better bike?

Lunacy! consumer is the king so if you want carbon wheels go for it. Just decide if that saving in unsprung weight ,the possible saving in suspension wear and those valuable 1/10's of a second off yer commute is worth it?
