My fault not the bike's. I can't stop revving!

Obviously that would not be the same for the K4 which is fuel injected. Would the ECU(?) remap itself to compensate for the extra air?
A friend of mine with a Triumph Daytona is always downloading new maps for his ECU so I guess the SV would be just as easy. Don't know for sure though. I'm not too keen on your Fuel Injected system I must say. Yes it does give more power to the bike and there's nothing wrong with that, but I just love the mechanical carbs when set up right. Also, my wife's car using a similar system decided to rev on its own freewill one day causing her to head straight into the bumperless pickup truck in front of her which ruined her car. Image it was me on me bike, especially knowing that it all would have been amplified twofold. A bike is lighter and would have accelerated quicker; a bigger impact! I wouldn't have liked that!! I know this doesn't happen that often but it happened to my wife. Hope it never happens to any biker out there.

Well, to modify a FI bike's fuelling you need specialist gear... Either a Power Commander, or a dealer with access to a Teki or Yosh box to do it for you. I like being able to change mine with a screwdriver, personally

SV FI won't correct for you, but apparently is generally set up a little rich so you might be OK. Alternatively, you might run lean, get poor running, a performance and efficiency drop, and in extreme cases a big hole in your pistons. But the prevailing wisdom seems to be that the K&N for the FI SV isn't very effective so remapping isn't always needed.

(btw, a really well jetted engine with a free-flowing filter doesn't neccesarily burn more fuel- yes, it takes in more with each "gulp" but it also makes more power with each bang. My bike actually made better MPG with a little tuning. It doesn't at the moment, but that's probably because it's set up really badly )

*bump*

Anyone know where I could find the difference in mapping for a Dynojet PC USB for a '04 SV650 w/ twin brothers slip on with stock air filter compared to one with a K&N filter?
