I used to have electric gates at my place in SA.
I fixed a velcro pouch to the top yoke of my gixer so I could activate the gate as I turned into my street. Cheap and easy. The garage was manual however ![]() |

I'm keen to do this now I have power in my garage (woo-hoo!)
I think I may rig up a smoke machine and some strobes too. perhaps even some speakers to blast out The Flight of the Valkyries or something as it opens on my way out... ![]() Like the idea of wiring the swich to the pass swtich... |

i have an electric garage door (waits for the cries of admiration to subside) and its a pain with the bike as we only have two transmitters, ones on my car keys and ones in the house.
i was thinking of getting another one and somehow either fixing it to or into the bike. mmmmm, wheres that big drill.. |

Most transmitters use a simple switch to ground so perhaps the best way to go would be to use a opto isolator with the collector connected to the switch on the transmitter the emitter to ground and the LED side connected to the pass switch via a current limiting resistor.
