So long as you have a softer front compound on the front than the rear you wont go that far wrong. However should you change your front for a compound that is a lot softer than the rear then you run the risk of over confidence in to a corner and having the rear slide away as it wont give you anywhere near as much grip as the front. So long as you ride with this foremost in your mind you should be ok. If you are not one to ride hard, then you shouldn't be to concerned. As soon as the rear needs replacing change it to the same as the front.

With the same set of tyres the front will always be of a softer compound than the rear in any case. That's the way it's supposed to be.

It is not an MOT failure to have mixed tyres on the bike. So long as they are not cross-ply and radial.

Hope this helps

You can choose BT002 on your front tire with your original BT020 in rear.
BT002 has pretty good performance and well control on road with sharp shape, I use BT002 both in front and rear.

Mine was a track bike of my cousin quite a few trick bits, but as a track bike would have thourght he would run smallish rear tyre, but no i got it with a 020 rear with quite a gd bit of tread 6mm in middle. Dont know what they meant to run tho (got info on GF PC tho so can find out what they run out the box if u want. tho 160 looks a beaut)
