Which half mile is that Steve? On that road I'd pick the stretch between Crossways Farm and Abinger Hammer. Not fast, but at least it's twisty. Oh and watch out for the new traffic island at the Wooton Hatch.

My other favorite is from M4 J4 head north (away from Heathrow) towards Stockley Park. When you get stuck at the lights (and you will) see how fast you can take the left hander past the hotel. Watch out as there's another set of lights about 400 metres further on... I know somebody with a black GSXR who has been well into 3 figures through that particular bend

It's fun when you know it, just too busy most of the time. And that's about 1/2 a mile.

wahey I've done 3 figures (indicated, mind!) on that left hander from M4 J4 north!

My fav 1/2 mile or so is on the A381 south up the hill from Harbertonford in south devon. Twisties that great faster and faster with a nice surface

That's a goodie!

Which road in Nailsworth though??? If it's the A46 northbound into Nailsworth that's quite nice, though not a back road! If it is THe LAdder - then that is definitely

My fav is the first 1/2 mile from work to home.

Not a great road, but a great feeling

I've never done it on a bike but the road that leads into Aberystwyth is a pretty good road and i'd love to do it by bike (bit longer than 1/2 mile though!)

I totally forgot the Barnsley road from Cirencester on through Bibury, it comes to an end about half a mile from the Little Chef at Burford!!!!!!

Next time I ride it will be 5 June between about 1pm and 1.20pm. I hope there are not too many vehicles in front of me!!!!!!

Well it is a bit uncomfortable I'll grant you but if you can put up with the brake fluid reservoir digging into your neck...

the road from tap house to looe in cornwall. well used by the plymouth bikers. plenty of sweeping bend with short hedge rows and the odd stright.
