Don't know if the guys done it deliberately but quite often coming down Commercial Road, he's on a Pan with his panniers covered with floueresant hatchings and instructor written on his helmet in a wriggly font so from a distance looks like a checked band

it's a long shot but it could be a police copper riding a really old police bike to make people think he isnt a copper. at the police garage in glasgow they have a bike (an i'm probably gonna get killed for sayin' this) it's an old bike (forget what exactly) a honda of some sort. it looks like a right bucket. it's got dents in the tank, rust everywhere. looks like a heap, but it's mehanicly perfect, and has 3-4 cameras on it. they use it for survaylance (i'm a dead man)

A few years ago, I worked in a garage and my boss bought and sold exotic cars, BMW CSL's and Porsche, Maserati etc.

One day he took an old American police car in part ex, complete with LAPD decals and lights.

It was amazing the reaction of numpties as you watched them pass you if you drove slower than the traffic. they would jump on the brakes, look down, look away, anything not to attract my attention :P

Can you get done for impersonating an American highway patrol in Hull?

The offense is impersonating a Police Officer.I dont think it specifies whether it is an LA one or not!

Saw a fully liveried up US patrol car near Maidstone recently, I think it was on its way to a vehicle rally. All the Police wording was covered with purpose made removeable sheets.

Reminds me of getting lost while on holiday on Norfolk broads last year and stumbling into a restaurant which had one of the old CHIPS police bikes. Turns out they had a connection with someone who deals with old TV show props and it ended up there. Was well impressed!

Has anyone EVER seen bike cops along the A2? I came across this guy a few miles before we passed the turnoff from the A2 onto the M25, and I didn't lose him until I'd got to the 50mph section of the A2, when he seemed to drop right back and vanish - assume he turned off there.

I don't think I've ever seen bike cops outside of London and close to biker areas at weekends, like Rykas cafe. I've seen the odd car but that's it.

There were two bike cops on the A13 this morning on my way into town... First ones I've seen so far. ALL the way down the 40mph section. YAWN. There were about 6 of us that wouldn't pass them.

Funny thing was they were doing just under 50mph... Coming up to my turn off I pulled into the slow lane thinking 'hoorah!' then I found they were going my way. D'oh!

All the other bikes blatted off into the distance leaving me to the rest of my very textbook ride. I felt like I was back on my DAS.

Kent used to have 34 mounted patrols (bikes).... now they have 10.

Apparently this is because the new chief didn't want money "wasted" on officers enjoying their hobbies, instead of filling out paperwork.
