Northwind,

can the ACF50 be used on painted parts? My stock triple clamps are showing rust already (2003 svnaked- new to me last aug 04) --little dots of rust. wouldn't come off with nylon brush and kerosene (I was cleaning the chain yesterday). And it's stored in a garage!

And I just found it online in the US. seems reasonable at $14US, I'll buy it

thanks,
ed

I've got a tub of graphited grease that's going to last forever... just smear it on boltheads and anywhere that seems to be affected worse by corrosion than other areas... quite theraputic going over the whole bike and looking for every little blemish. Sad I know...

I I found lots of people on the web complaining that the scottoiler stuff was crap and saying that acf-50 was much better. I've just bought some acf-50 from a company on the web. Can't remember what they were called now though. I'll try to remember to check when I get home. Keep it away from your brakes, since it's a lubricant.

I believe so... I've certainly been spraying it on engine casings, subframes etc to no ill effects. How well it works to protect a painted surface is another question, maybe PM Patch- I know he's used it for a lot longer than me (it was his recommendation that made me try it) and he's a high miler so he should have a better idea.

thanks North. Sounds safe, you don't have any melting paint.
