Yes, I found that too. Relax your grip on the bars (a bit!) and try to use your back to support your weight rather than leaning on the bars.

Glynmitch: You've not been a tart and fitted carbon bar ends, have you?
Loosen up a little when riding, don't grip so hard and try not to lean on your wrists so much, and make sure your gloves aren't too tight. Anything that resticts blood flow into your hands will give you the old numb hand syndrome. I sued to suffer from this, but have just been down to Norwich and back on the bike with no problems.

... agreed

Vibration or circulation???

Most of the posts I have read on this, seem to suggest that there is something wrong with the bikes. However, has anyone considerd, most peoples right hand is usually slightly bigger than their left. Therefore, the right glove will be a slightly tighter fit. This may be what's causing the numb right hand syndrome.

Another contributing factor (for those who are left handed and have this problem as well) is that the right hand is used to control the throttle. This can cause the right hand wrist to be at a different angle to the left and possibly cause circulation problems.

I have 2 pair of gloves and find that only my summer gloves make my right hand go numb. If I let my arm hang straight down I can feel my fingers tingle as the blood rushes back. Loosening the glove a little and adjusting my wrist angle alleviates the problem. I have ordered a new pair of summer gloves which I am hoping will be more comfortable.

Eh, no

Sid, My bike is a pointy S K3 model and has abot 2800 miles on it. It is completely standard even down to the Dunlop D220's.

I have been advised that fitting heavier bar ends might help. Is this true and will it slow the steering?

I am also using Alpinestars GP Tech summer gloves and may well be wearing them a little in the tight side around my wrist. I have also had the idea of wearing my mountain biking gloves which have a gel pad in the palm and are fingerless.

What do you think?

I am a sufferer of Raynaud's Phenomenon. This is the bane of my life. This morning I rode 20 miles to work, by the time I got there my hands were completely white and I couldn't feel my fingers. This was due in large part to the vibration that I get from the SV.

In fact my hands looked just like this.

Good news.

Went out for a ride tonight with my mountain biking gloves on under my Alpinestars with good results. The gel in the palm really made a difference and helped absorb the vibes but I still had good feeling too.

SORTED!!

Happy days ahead for sure.
