Been round it too. Went on a coach trip in '83 to see two F1 GP's & the driver took the coach round it Took 21 minutes.
Don't know if they still let anything round it, but they did back then.

They do indeed as I overtook a coach on my lap! I think its called the "Ring Bus" and is proper tour bus for the circuit...

in my recent trip to the ring they still let anyroad legal car or van on to it, i was two people in a 1.1 fiesta just next time i go i'm going to learn the ring using the ps2 and take my leathers

just watch out for the fast cars and bikes, there are some seriouly rapid people on the ring

out of intrests did anyone time themselves round it, using the sv clock so no seconds i reckon that i did a 10 minute lap from bridge to bridge (apparenlty this is the conformed method of timing - correct me if i'm wrong)

its also reputed to have up to 50 deaths a year but this seems very high as it not open all the time i think it would work out at more than 2 per weekend

the 258 is an incredible road and you absoultley must ride it just take care, there was a crash involving some english guys who had to be takern away in an airr ambulance, the hair pins are not alpine tight but more twisty than much i have seem in the uk

...and the rest! The GP circuit was just over 14 miles, before they built the current Tilkedrome abomination, and I think the current loop is a gnat's under 13.

Spoken like a true "yet to go to the 'Ring" person! You have to average something like 100mph to get round in 10 minutes, I challenge you to hit 100mph on anything but the longest straights!

sorry but

the ring is 20.8km long for simpicitly i'll make it 20km long around the distance you time anyway as you never cross the start finish line

if you do 20km in 10 minutes your doing 120kph around 70mph

there also are corners on the ring that are takern at 100+ on a sv, if you were a really good rider i think that most of the lap would be almost flat out, on the last straight you get very close to 130mph
a guy in a bmw on a 8:30 lap was going through some corners at over 240kph (150mph)

if you can watch the vidoe on bmw website (sorry forgotton the address its not the bmw main site) of a k1200s doing a sub 8 minute true lap

Taken from the website with regards lap times

My advice here can be summarised in one word: don't. In my view, it puts pressure on people to push harder than may be wise, especially if they have a particular 'goal' in mind. Both marshalls and police report that a disproportionate number of serious crashes have a running stop-watch on the dash or handlebars
