Not getting touchy, just pointing out that it won't be much consolation having a valid insurance policy when you're explaining to the person with the curley wig why your licence isn't valid.

ok... so not the speediest banana.. , but I gotta start somewhere. The plan is to get used to the bike, get some slow manouvering practice and then take the direct access so that I can bin the restrictor.

I don't mind having the restrictor fitted, but I'm buggered if I'm paying for a new one, they are such a rip off - the one I have bought is only 7 months old and I paid 55 quid for it.... bit better than the 150ish I keep getting quoted! It will be interesting to see what quotes I get just for fitting and 'certification'

Never thought I'd get a yellow SV, but it's fully faired and looks rather gorgeous - definate head turner!

I will have to pull a bit of a blinder when I collect it, popping over to southampton while I'm holidaying in S Wales, so will have to work out how to sort something out.

Whatever the case, I just hope it's better than the CBR600F, that I am selling to get it - it's nice to look at, but leaves you with hellish white knuckles, and hell, it's just too heavy for me when doing the old slow manouvers. Someone recommended the SV... and so here I am!

I'm not touching this one again

Though don't worry about it slowing you down, I reckon most riders benefit from riding a lower powered bike- it teaches you speed conservation skills that you're less likely to learn on a full power machine when all you have to do to make progress is brake into eveyr turn thenwedge it open on the way back out.
