That is quite an amazing story Mitch, I was honestly expecting the guy to be dead but to hear he walked out of hospital only a couple of hours after the incident is truly amazing. That guy must of had some luck that day.

Oh and always wear your leathers, maybe they wouldnt offer much protection in that circumstance but if he clipped the dear and slid across the ground or got his feet trapped under the bike or anything really its best to have the best protection you can have as it will increase your odds of surviving.

Holy Crap... That's amazing...

Glad he's come off so well, I have to admit I was expecting the worst there. Funny tho.. the more stories I hear about other bikers' experiences the more superstitious I become.

Enjoy your holiday, dude, sounds like you need it.

Either way, always wear your ferking leathers kids
As Lyn pointed out, I was referring to the melted nylon .

I too thought that your friend was going to be dead. What a horrible shock.

Enjoy your holiday Mitch. Montana sounds perfect - going anywhere near where they filemed 'And A River Runs through It'?

Glad your mate is Ok Mitch, sure he'll be getting some leathers in the future.

Hey everyone,

Thank you all for your replies. Readnig everyones comment and I think you all stated 'He is lucky to be alive'. I have had much time to reflect on that evening (As much as I don't want to) and don't think it will stop me frmo riding. Nor him. He mentioned, jokingly, he was going to get a new bike then invest in leathers. I hope my other friends have laerned something from this as well and that you need leathers! So, after seeing what I have and wish I hadn't, I would like to invest in a better riding pant. I think I will start a new post for that. Thanks,

Mitch

The night I wrote that I hadn't slept a wink and it was about 4:00 AM, I was quite emotional, as Saint Matt noticed.

Hey Sythree,

Yes, River Runs Through It was shot REALLY close to here. I am in a resort called Meadow Lake which is in Columbia Falls. I think that movie was shot in Bigfork, Kalispell, or Whitefish. Anyways, time to run,

Mitch

we have wild turkeys, the animal that scares me the most is moose, they are so big, while you can't avoid the one that jumps in front of you, they are visually easy to see if standing in the road, moose are much darker coat and just tall enuf so you can't quite ride under one and not much scares them to move out of the way
