Having a drink whilst driving is something I think most of us have done at one point or another in our lives. Attitudes towards drink driving have really changed over the past 20 years. When I first started riding/driving it was considered an acceptable risk ie. You knew what you were doing. It is your licence and your risk.

Today it is rightly considered unacceptable. I am suprised by any biker who even has a pint before getting on two wheels. It is dangereous enough out there without adding extra alcohol induced risk.

Dobbing this guy in was the right action. If under he has nothing to fear. If as you suspect, he was drunk he is a menace and needs to learn a quick lesson.

Well done. in your position I would do the same.

But once I realised that he had been drinking and this along with his hopeless non ability to get round the simplest of corners and crashing right in front of me, I decided I no longer wished to help him.

Right or wrong, that's what I felt at the time.

It's nice to hear a story where only the drink driver(rider) comes off worse. Normally in car crashes the drink driver gets out without a scratch and everyone else is dead!

Let's hope the ar****le gets a huge fine and banned for a long time.

Good on yer BigApe!

You were absolutely correct to inform the police. Thanks for not shying away from your responsibilities; not just as a biker but as a community spirited citizen

You did the right thing, as anybody who drinks heavily and rides automatically IMO negates their right to biker comradeship.
