Looks like a good idea, has anyone tried them?

The first link is for the Rcaetech emulators (Gold Valves) which I've got. They're not that expensive (£110 from PDQ), you can fit them yourself easily enough, and I would get them again now I've tried them.

Two things I would do (and have done):

One, change the tyres for the Conti Attacks. Superb and really improve handling.

Two, if you have a decent budget, get someone reputable such as Steve Jordan or West London Suzuki to source and fit Ohlins front springs and a rear shock for you. I had this done, had them set up properly, and the difference to the bike is immense. I'm a 16 stoner like you, and with the old shocks and springs had the preload up to max, which is probably not a good idea. Trust me, the bike feels really great and since I use it all the time for work, for weekend blasts and for pillion, the shocks do exactly what I wanted - and more.

Cost for both upgrades is around £500 plus labour. Money well spent, in my opinion.

Pretty much any shop will sell and fit the parts, but not that many are actually able to set them up right... See if you can find a race tuner or builder near you for the setup, I'd say- check out the yellow pages or whatever. I found a gem of a place called YPE Power in the least likely of places (a sleepy wee residential place near me called Bonnyrigg, where usually bikers are arrested on sight) and it's been a really useful connection to have.

With emulators, Traxxion's kit using the Racetech bits gets a far better rep than Racetech's own- apparently the Racetech parts are fantastic but the fitment's awful.

An option that's not been mentioned yet is these guys:
http://www.svraceshop.com/
The guys from the shop post a lot on SV Rider, and their rebuilt GSXR shocks have a superb rep. they totally specialise in the SV and race them themselves as well, so they really know their stuff. They do a full rebuild of the newer GSXR Showas- good items in the first place- for $375US plus shipping or a cheaper version for $275US. With the exchange reates being what they are that works out pretty cheap. It does mean modifying your battery box to get it to fit but I reckon you'd be hard pushed to tell the difference between one of theirs and a stock Ohlins or Penske for street riding.

Tell them that I recommended them!!!!

Also, really do change the tyres if you're running the Dunlops that were standard fitment. That alone makes a world of difference!
