Sorry to hear this

Feel better though as it wasnt your fault, lack of concentration on his part no reflection on your riding skills

And this type of thing is quite common I think, saw one yesterday when a truck rearended a fiesta. Just be glad it wasnt him behind you!

Just make sure your fit to get back on the bike and keep busy while the bikes being fixed otherwise itll seem like times going backwards!

And hopefully you want be getting rearended by anymore knobs in the forseeable future

As part of legal insurance you will have bike replacement, there are companies who give you a replacement bike and change it to the other guy's insurance, ask your insurance or broker about it. If you have a car though, don't admit this to the replacement bike people (As Sveedy & I have found out, they hate to give out bikes - so sock em ).

Sounds like it could have been worse- and at least the guy can't deny fault. Good luck with the insurance and repairs and all.

Thanks for this, lonsdale said the same thing, but when i rang them they said they don't give replacement bikes.
hoever, because i rang early i was dealt with by the out of hours people, and ebike won't get all the details till tommorow, so i am going to try and hassel them tommorow about this.

th ooh dept were a bit rubbish whereas ebike themselves seem great. i have read my policy from cover to cover though and a replacement bike is not mentioned at all.

i will speak to them tommorow about it as the bike is my only transport so hopefully they will sort something out.

I see we both had a bad day . Glad you quite okay.

Yes , it always a shock when you are rear ended. I think it something to do with not seeing it coming.

Cheers
Ben

Enough about my rear end!!

Seriously though, I rang e bike and they said that I should have been offered a hire company to get in touch with me about this...

so a company called hexagon are sending me a restricted cb400 tommorow.

one of my mates said to be careful with hire bikes as if they write off my bike my pay out could be less (as they pay for the hire from that)???

any thoughts?

Although I didn't get a hire bike lasy year, Red Star sent me the T&Cs, with them there was no hire cost to you either way if you're on fully comp - as long as you don't drop their bike (they were quoting a £350 excess if I did)
