Forecast is dry and mild from here to the other side of Christmas so very little chance of ice on the roads.

Now's the time to plead for you pass - maybe even offer to do some dishes for Xmas etc. in return

Here's a quich run-down of the route (about 170 miles)

• Leeds (First meeting point - A659/A61 crossroads - Harewood House) - Leaving at 9.00am
• A61 to Thirsk (* Second meeting point - Market Square) - Leaving at 10.00am
• A170 to Thornton-le-Dale
• Dalby Forest Drive to Scalby
• A165 to Scarborough South Bay (Lunch stop)
• A165 to Bridlington
• B1253 to Sledemere
• Right on to B1251 to Fridaythorpe (Stop for a Cuppa at Seaways Cafe 2.00pm approx)
• A166 via Stamford Bridge
• A64 to Fulford
• Join B1222 via Cawood and finish at Squires 3.30pm approx

If you're coming PM with where you'll meet us and what you'll be riding.

Sorry it's the 27th.

I've had it organised for some time now and have a good 15-30 bikes coming - weather pending.

You could be back for 2.30pm if you go straight on from Fridaythorpe!

Well the forecast is looking dry over Xmas but getting colder (depending on who you believe - I've seen three different forecasts).

Weather pending its looking like a busy ride-out with anywhere between 20-30+ bikes of all varieties coming. Some folks are even coming up from Oxford!!!!!!!

For those braving the cold, please can everyone meeting us in Thirsk make sure they have full tanks. Those meeting the ride before Thirsk can fill up with the group at the Tesco petrol station on the edge of Thirsk before we get to Market Square.

Please see me in Scarborough if you think you'll need to fill up again before Fridaythorpe and I'll make sure we stop when needed for those bikes that are capacity challenged on the fuel tank front - you know who you are.

From Thirsk it's only 120 miles to Fridaythorpe if that so most of you should be ok.

See you all on the 27th - wrap up warm and ride safe.

Andy.

Ok chaps and chapesses.

The forecast is: Very cold (-temps overnight) but getting up to 2-4*C by lunchtime, possibly damp with snow showers developing on the coast later in the afternoon.

As most of us will have been couped up for a few days I'm sure like me you still want to get out on the bike, so the ride will go ahead and all being well we should avoid the snow showers as we'll be heading inland just after lunch.

The Dalby Forest drive isn't a main road but should be gritted and has a very good surface. It is limited to 30/40mph anyway so shoould be alright. It does have a few very tight corners with awkward camber so some might rather not do it if the roads are at all slippy.

We'll take the ride easy and ride safely. For those not wanting to do the Dalby Forest road you can go straight on from Thorton-le-dale to Scarborough and meet us at South Bay in the Motorcycle parking zone near the fair. If you think this might be you please see me at Thirsk so I know what to expect.

So for those of you brave enough to ride tomorrow I look forward to seeing you at the various meeting places - for those too deciding to keep there slippers on I understand and look forwartd to seeing you on a summer ride-out.

For those meeting us in Thirsk we'll meet on the main car park where the toliets are as there are no wardens working in Thirsk tomorrow and it allows more space than the dedicated motorcycle area.

We'll be leaving Harewood at 9.00am prompt and Thirsk at 10.00am so don't be late and if you think you might be call me on my mobile (PM me for number).

Andy

Remember to wrap-up warm and ride carefully.
