I'm with Sid on this one.... Looks like it could be a good tool, but maybe not at BMW prices. If you consider that the new Honda CBF1000 is just £5k (and it's almost as ugly) if this is anywhere near £7k it will only appeal to BMW'ites, who probably already have a similar bike anyway...

If you mean that the half-faired version is only half as ugly

I'm not a fan of the looks, but it sounds like it could be a good bike.

I really like the looks of the half faired one... I'm not sure if it's a real niche though. It seems to be targeted at people for whom the SV's basic spec is good, but who want a better all round package and a bit more prestige, and can afford it. I suppose technically that's me I wouldn't buy one though, it's heavy, and I'd sooner spend the money on a modded SV. I did!

I think it's to replace the old BMW street 650s if I heard right.

BMW build quality isn't what you'd like to think nowadays!

BMW have noticed how well the TDM 900 sells in europe and decided to try and copy it .

Problem is they made a **** job of it

and on the BMW build quality. I have also read quite a bit about rusting frames , broken welds , etc. (All off the ukgs forums)

perhaps in there attempt to drop prices they are finding they also have to cut corners to compete.

I guess there will always be examples of any bike or model that unfortunately do not wear as well as others. Today a guy out with us was on a 99 registered BMWR1100S which apart from the last 6 months lived in the U.K. That bike is absolutely immaculate.

I actually like it. Certainly would give it a go. Better than the ER-6.

A bit 650 Bandit which is ok in a bland way.
An interesting design for sure.

But I think the price will be taking the phish for such a basic bike. And it probably has the speed and handling of a bouncy castle.

And therefore no-one will buy it. And the SV will be safe for another year.
