I have Avon Azaro AV45 and AV46. Sports touring.
I luv em. OK I do not have years of experience with different tyres, but I feel safe with these tyres and they last well too. I only have 7,000 bike miles under my belt but they are great I went for them after looking around and getting opinions and reading write ups. Good grip, good wet tyres also (which helps living in Britain) and long life. I use my bike for commuting so an out n out sports tyre would be no good for me, I wanted something that'd last a bit longer and I believe I have found it. They get a Stretchie thumbs up ![]()

Hello folks,
After trying various tyres I always seem to go back to avon's . Sport touring and Supersport. Admitedly price does have a bearing on it but they have never let me down.... ![]() ![]() Stretchie, I use the SV purely for commuting at the moment ( 18miles round trip). Buying sticky tyres is a false ecnomy for me. Happen to have a BT020 on the rear which is similar type of tyre to your avons (although more expensive ![]() ![]() ........... and just as important the AV46 is gorgeous! ![]() ![]() Andy |

stetchie im going to disagree, i have av45/46's, and they are great in the dry, however they scare me to death in the wet they just constantly slide any damp even and the grip goes for me, full blown wet is just dangerous...
i have only done about 1500mile on them (mostly winter riding) and at the edges they are almost new (although fully scrubbed in) and down the centre they have probably lost about a mm to 1.5mm tops (thats on the back) the front looks great. I would consider changing them if i could sell the av45/46 tyres once they were off for a reasonable price. If your interested pm me, as im now in your neck of the woods (ish) cost me £180 fitted at jhs. Andy |
