Conti's have some rather bad press in both MCN and PB.......

Reckoned to be ok in the dry, but hideous in the wet.

I however cannot speak from personal experience, but can reccomend against the Avon AV45/46 ST's, if you like a jolly jaunt in the poor weather from time to time. Makes you feel like Rossi the amount they spin up.

Danno.

I ride in all weathers and thought RA's are an excellent all weather tyre for the price. In fact i'm visiting the local outlet for some tomorrow and overhauling the old dirty brakes whilst i'm there also

I've got RA's on my Deauville and find them absolutely fine in the wet, inspiring a lot of confidence, certainly when used moderately.

Not sure what they're like at the limit in the wet (I take it pretty easy), but "hideous"? No.

Thanks all.
Hi Saracen,
For the record do not over look the Michelin Pilot Road (Sport Touring) tyres. Very good wear longevity, in addtion to excellent wet grip. Check them out!
These will be my tyre of choice when the stock Dunlops are history.
Cheers!
Happy New Year!

Yeah, it's only my first ever set of aftermarket tyres, so I'm not fussed. My bike life is only about 8000 miles since I first started riding in 99 (2 and a hlaf year break being the main reason). All I want is some grip, and long life. I just wanted to check whether the Conti's would be good or not. I'm still having trouble finding someone in London who'll do them for anywhere near the £135 fitted that Spannerman offers in Nottingham, but I'll keep trying. My BT020s are squaring off.

Yep, Sid, Essential want £175! Is there a secret word or something to get more realisitc prices? else I'll be ordering the tyres myself, then get them fitted locally.
