I think it's down to where we are in the U.K. I'd rather ride 100miles in France than 30 in the south east of England; from here in Devon, Kent can be a long slog.
The point about needing a cabin is very valid, trying to sleep in recliners or on the floor doesn't set you up for some sharp riding next day - even a night in a cabin doesn't guarantee enough sleep.

Is any body doing Le Mans this year then?

I am booked with Brittany Ferries on the Thursday night sailing from Portsmouth to St Malo and returning Sunday night Caen to Portsmouth.

Is any anybody doing those sailings?

I was planning on making it a long weekend with the redhead, but it's right in the middle of my final exams, so I can't take the time out anymore.
If it had been the week earlier, as I thought it was going to be, then I'd have been able to go.
