That's the point, I dunno...

Besides, its all pie in the sky at the moment until the dealers pull their fingers outta their asses & tell me what the hell's going on...

The list of bikes are as follows...

SV650S/N K5 (with lots of nice bits on it already ) Not paying for all that lot again
SV1000S/N K6 (believe they're doing 'em black with a black frame & wheels )
Aprilla Tuono
Ducati Multistrada
BMW K1200R (would be nice, but way too expensive I feel )

Deffo not buying anything made by KTM Or from a certain dealership in Newcastle upon Tyne

Buell Ulysses?

Has a decent report on the Multistrada Ok, misplaced in that group, but still reviewed. Not sure it will replace your SM, TBH.

K1200R for me out of that lot.

Yeah, but that's part of it's appeal. I like it.

To my eye it's one of the ugliest bikes on the market, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

i'm not overly sure on ducati build quality
Hmmm well for what it is worth my Ducati is a few months off being 2 years old and apart from a really anally close scrutiny looks as good as new. The only faults I have spotted are:

1.Very slight oxidation on small area of clutch lever close to where it pivots.

2.I small section of paint which is smaller than a 1 pence piece below the rear seat pod where the tail plastic screw fastens has chipped.

I find it hard to criticise the build quality at all and I am very picky!

Servicing costs for the Strada are not the same generally as for the Testastressa motor. So many things including the belts can be changed by any half competant mechanic on that machine.

In addition Cloggsy is not a high ,mileage kind of guy and so his "big" services will be well spread out and so to claim as a generalisation that his service costs would way exceed those of a Jap counterpart are I am afraid wrong.

The Strada is something of a Vivienne Westwood to the eye but I have to say that I have read a lot of reviews by journos and owners and have not seen a bad report yet. just like the GS Beemers you wouldnt really want to green lane it,but it can do everything else so well.

Cloggsy should maybve cast half an eye on the Triumph Triple also.
