Mike...Good point mate. However would not adding something to the bores to try and replicate say a smaller diameter not be a way around that?

Hi guys!

Thanks for the replies! Really interesting to hear what people think about the idea...

I've thought a lot about the piping and the back pressure on the pipes. I will (I think) use the connection piping that is used for the Ducati 748 to get the "exhaust pressure" stable/even between the cylinders - don't know if it works but think it's a good idea. Any comments to this?

Don't know how big/small the end cans should be but considering the cans on the Ducati 748 are small (compared to other) I think it'd be worth going for. It might be that I'm wasting the money and the effort but have thought about this for a while and why not do it!?

Will be posting pictures here when starting to build the items.

One thing about the Termignoni - aren't they also "just" so called "open-air exhasuts"? I mean, if you can rebuild original cans to open-air... what's the difference?! I've bought the rebuild set from a dealer in the Netherlands and will get the pipes next week. According to him he sells this set to racing dealers in the NL.

Keep em messages coming in... best wishes, Patrik

Surely it would be more cost effective to get the pipework made up instead of hacking stuff about from another bike, at least then if anything looks odd it can be made to suit.

Regardless of pipe dia and can type, long link pipes never work too well, by the time you get under the seat the type of race can is not really important as any damage likely to be done to the performance will be in the link pipe.
Saying that Sv's are pretty good and the longer pipe doesn't really harm them too much, as long as the headers are good and there's a race can on the other end it will be ok

the cans and pipe work will work if they have a diamiter of 40-45mm max back pressure should be ok the but need to makesure all pipe work is equal legth from all the cylinders.

im sure regegade do a set of Dutcati cans (look) for the SV, so wil make it proform and will look amazing!!

http://www.renegade-products.com/renegade/index.html

Go to "Photographs" then "suzuki" then "SV650s underseat"

You can see the other can (though not very well) but looks like ducati cans and would sound/proform much better!!

In truth practically most cans could be a Ducati can or Suzuki can etc. The main factors being the method of mounting and the inlet hole size. There is no massive difference to the internals of end cans produced by a wide range of manufacturers.

The renegades aren't Ducati cans, they make their own. I've never liked the fitment, personally, or I'd have a set

The renegade underseat cans look superb on the curvy - have yet to see a set on a pointy that I really like though.

Some pics below of Jorge's first underseat setup that I took in April 2001:-

The newer underseats have a different pipe layout don't they? That's far neater than I remember

Andy13, I'll probably be selling the gold ones or recoating them soon, if you want 'em... But the front won't fit on a standard SV
