my first bike used to be kept in a 8x10 shed and i must say it did its job great!
you dont seem to get condensation in a shed where as i now have a 21x10 prefab garage and it always seems damp in there.

Check your insuurance small text. Mine specifically said "not wooden"

Cost me money to get that sorted.

True. You might get lucky and find one that doesn't stipulate brick. A mate's insurer didn't ask what his "garage" was made out of. It was a massive shed that you could park 2 cars in

With the bikesafe things, be aware that even the large ones aren't really big enough to work on the bike in.

If I had the space to build a garage, I would do it properly. Brick, water and sewage, an old sink, power and lighting. I'd paint the walls and floors too.

I'd then buy an old electric heater, fan and ducting and create a system to warm my lid and jacket which would be hanging there for when it's cold.

How about instead of a radiator, fit one of those bathroom "towel drier" style ones? Put your jacket on that an your lid on a mesh shelf above it and it'll be toasty.

Yeah that would work, but I think they are designed to be part of a central heating system. Just a little electric heater so you could switch it on from the house, or set it on a timer.
