On a more sensible note
DO not rush it especially if you have been injured as you may think you are all cured and every thing is hunky dory. But that may not be the case.
I have broken both my collar bones and they have both been plated and the insewarants have paid out, but now i have allsorts of upper back and neck problems that i have to pay for privately as the good old NHS won't help.

I had my accident at the end of August, a simple rear-end shunt, with the entire blame on the person who hit me. Police and witness statement backed this up.

The other person's insurer admitted liability in early October, and paid out for my bike....however, the speed of this payment was most probably influenced by the £72 per day they were having to pay for the hire bike I was given - at it was only an ER-5!

I'm still waiting for the £300+ for uninsured losses/personal expenses (helmet, prescription charges, bike recovery, taxis, etc.) and for the injury payout. There was a mix-up lasting for two months during which my solicitor claimed the insurer had not admitted liability for injuring me (a bit strange considering they'd admitted liability for writing-off the bike I was riding ). That has now been resolved, and the insurer has admitted liability, but still they're taking there time making an offer.

On a good note, they are now paying for my pysiotherapy.

As an aside, my solicitor said it's always best to avoid being hit by company cars or hire cars (I'll have to remember to be more selective about who drives into the back of me!). I was hit by someone driving a company car, and the chain of people involved in the claim is: Me -> The claim company representing me -> The insurer of the other party -> The lease company -> The employer of the other party -> The woman who actually hit me

Best of luck with your claim

Jo
