Can't say for the 675, but I can tell you that the 650 has Pirelli Diablos.

Balky, that really sucks on the off. If you can find the time I'd go to the council offices armed with all the evidence needed and demand to see someone.

Weight of the crank? Do you mean whether it was free rev'ing? If so, yes, it's very light and rev's up and down quickly. It's aimed at Supersport 600 market and is eligible for the Supersport championship being a triple. Don't wait until summer, ride it now (although the one I rode won't be available until Wednesday!)

I was thinking the same thing. The dealer didn't offer me a prize or anything though so a little dissapointed

Yep, you are right. I've seen dealers ask for the full cost of repairs/bike values in their disclaimers. And it was an experience - if that's the worst off I ever have I'll be a very happy man!

As for claims and road conditions, its raining so not sure if pics will come out but I'll pop up there later and let you know how I get on with the council - at the very least they should repair that road.

Take it you were impressed with the bike otherwise, bearing in mind your own bike has the suspension all set up but the 675 is as,BUT is fully adjustable,so once
set up could be quite impressive???????? I thought the brakes were stonking and the grunt good, but not worth the 4k it would cost to changeand it is def not as comfortable as me old ST
Hi Mac - It's on a A130, a couple of miles before a village called Ford End, it forks to the right a bit but I couldn't see the name on the roundabout.

The bike is good but you are right, my suspension has been changed and set up to suit me and the Daytona is very firm for a road bike and the front end could do with a little less pre-load/compression dampening. But I would have one if the cost to change wasn't quite so hi - there are no discounts available. Grunt was good and the brakes, once I got the up to speed, were amazing.

Glad you're OK, and look at the brightside at least it wasnt your own bike.

I agree with you about bungs, why dont dealers put bungs on their loan / demo bikes. I had a loan bike a while back and it got blown over in the wind. I am conviced that if had had a decent of bungs on it then the damage might not have been as bad. £250 is reasonable, the excess on the bike I had was £500.

£250 for a test ride is very reasonable.

I took a Z1000 and an SV 1000 out on demo and had to sign a disclaimer for £1000 using my credit card as a guarantee.

A lot of these manufacturer new vehicle launches are paid for by the factory or importer and the dealer only pays for the bikes when they are sold.

Still bad luck being the first to drop a 675 though

That is really bad mate I do feel for you.

I notice no one else has asked so I am going to be Devil's Advocate here....

You mentioned that you have negotiated that roundabout previously on your GSX in the past? As you mentioned this time you went through more sedately and chose a different line. But if you were familiar with the roundabout did you not know this "rut" was there?

I really am not looking to kick you when you are down, but the question instantly came to me when reading the sorry tale of your fall?

Indeed. After my accident I had every intention of taking photo's of the condition of the road and reporting that the road surface was in large the cause of my accident. By the time I was out of hospital and fit enough to sort out photos and such, the whole of the slip road had been resurfaced.

Here's a scenario:
'Hello Mr. B. Ape here. I note the B432 twixt Nobbin Bottom and St Mellons has justs been resurfced, can you tell me why?'
'Hello Mr Ape. The road was resurfaced due to safety concerns because of the degraded and loose surface'
'Thanks, says Mr Ape'

My point being that the very act of resurfcacing a road must be admission of it not being up to scratch, otherwise they wouldnt would they. Getting completely to the point if someone comes and fills in Balky's hole ( ) before he can get a pick of the hole I'd still take a pic of newly filled in hole, as it indicates soemthing needed doing. Worth a try I suppose.
