andy, just dont be tempted to go after the guys that go at full chat/speed. learn the race lines for your particular circuit first

( you will be put in a beginners group. no shame-we all start there)

concentrate on this and you will find your speed will pick up instinctively with each lap. treat it as a learning curve mate. and most important of all, enjoy it. remember a mate of mine telling me to do deep breathing excercise on grid, i sounded like darth vader about to sh** himself.

don't be nervous, it's just like a fast road, it will not bite your ass as long as you ride within yoruself.

meet up and chat with other first timers - you will have a lot in commen and lots to talk about between sessions. also try and have a look round some of the ACU's group bikes THEY are amazing!!

take plenty of fluids or cash for drinks as you will be working supprisily hard.

make sure your tyres are not cracked/low on tred as three guys in our group got told they couldn't go on track and the tyres at the track are pretty pricy! much better to go with some fresh tyres you got at a decent price - plus it means you don't miss any sessions!

i serious considering a trackday this summer BUT mainly to learn/practise KDs and learning around courners so i can be better on the road (not i wont use the road like a racetrack just want to learning in a safer envoirnment)

i know a few poeple guys that go but they all have a high crash rate so put me off (a badly damaged R6 + cometically challenged zx7r )
