£8 for swing arm bobbins, £15 for cheap stand from one of the shows. That's the rear taken care of.
Am now thinking of jacking the bike up under the engine, putting a bar through the engine casting at the front and lowering the bar down onto two axle stands. That should lift the front off the ground and be pretty safe and secure.

I have contacted the motorliner people and apparently if I send them the disc and £30 they will deliver it back the next day It's got to be worth a go and the bike shouldn't be off the road for too long.

As for the stand I was looking at the NWS and ABBA stands but the cheap option sounds too tempting.

Don't bother with wavey discs, a mate of mine has them, and prior to him getting them I tried to canvass some opinions. Add it all together, there isn't much of an improvement over stock.

They do. Can anyone explain to me why they should work better?

I am not getting the physics of the situation.

Heat dissipation is the result usually referred to. Also lighter weight, of course, which isn't good for braking in itself but reduces the rotating mass of the wheel which in turn makes slowing the thing down easier.

The heat thing's a bit of sleight of hand though... Compare them with, say, a plain iron EBC Prolite. The Prolite, being a bit old lump of iron, will absorb and retain far more heat than a wavy. And as we know, heat makes brakes less effective (unless you have carbon discs. Which you don't) So, that's the justification people use to say wavys are better.

But... Discs need to get pretty hot to degrade your braking performance. If you can achieve that on the road, you must live beside some really fast, twisty roads. On the track, it might be an issue.

All the rest of the time, the Prolite's superior friction characteristics- progressive grip, very predictable, and a higher friction coefficient, plus a larger friction surface- make it better. But less flash.

On the other hand, Prolites are rubbish for road bikes because they go scabby every time it rains, while stainless Galfers don't. I've got Prolites on just now, and they are absolutely fantastic... But the bike just spent 3 nights in the rain while I did some spraying, and now they're bright orange

I brought mine from here
they look like this on

They took a while to come, but for £110 per disc, i didn't mind waiting

and i agree, don't touch EBCs if you ride in the wet
