Prices I do not think are that high for 3 days of excellent entertainment. You should price any F.1 event and then you'd get a shock. Food is not bad, if you want good food book a restaurant. Unless you fly in and out like the richy riches then congestion is something that you have to accept. Don't know the owner, so can't comment. Do you want me to lift your rattle and put it back in your pram ![]() |

I do kinda agree with Sean here - it's not the best organised bike race in the UK and many things could be improved... I'm not sure that I'd personally pay to go each year!
![]() The traffic is just terrible - the organisers and the Police make a right old pigs ear of it! It took me about an hour and a half to get out last year in the pouring rain... And I waited for a good hour or so before pulling the tent down! ![]() They made me take a different route out than the one I wanted to take and I didn't know the way! Poor signposting didn't help! The drive home took an extra 20 miles than the drive there! ![]() |

We usually sort our own food as we only go race day, ok so facilities are a bit basic to say the least & last year i was queing up to have a pi55 against a brick wall cos there was no hope of getting into the toilet block, but apart from that we always enjoy the days racing + this year could be the doc's last one.
The only thing that does p me off is getting out of the carparks, it seems like the circuit gets your money & then ignores you totally, it really is mayhem. |

Got to agree with Sean. I went in 2003 and vowed I would never go again. The toilet facilities are atrocious as are the standard of on site caterers.
The entertainment ie racing is top notch, but there is so much else lacking that it spoils it all. Never mind. Off to Le Mans this year. Ho-hum ![]()

Facitlities are being uprated for this year and there will hopefully be a traffic system in place to ease queuing (know this as im doing the design for the new route
![]() For last year the parking facilities were also increased for cars only, so bikes literally could ride straight in no queuing as cars were kept away from the circuit. If you havent been before I would definitely recommend for the racing alone. Its an unique experience. Should you do it more than once ?? well thats up to you. |

havent been for the last one and wont go again in a hurry! the actual track and racing are brilliant, however being charged £2.50 for a thimble of coffee and then being told they've run out of milk, £4 for a poxy burger, poor, dirty facilities, staff that didnt have a clue and couldnt give a toss about their job anyway, being charged a silly amount to camp and then having security guards taking gas bottles off everyone with no warning, taking 5 + hours to get out and then having the circuit owner turning round and saying that he wanted to have a pop about the track invaision on the cool down lap. they could learn a hell of a lot from jonathon palmer who owns brands and a few others. brands copes with 120,000+ at WSB no problem, good clean facilities, reasonable access, helpfull staff. every years dnnington promise to sort the traffic and every year they make a pigs ear of it. MOTOGP should go to brands untill dnnington gets their finger out. rant rant etc

I went to Donington for the GP last year and fortunatley we went on the practice day so the weather apart from a few spots of drizzle was generally a dry day - parking wasnt a problem and was on tarmac - good day out!!

![]() Totaly agree with you, the first time I went was a 2 years ago. We booked for the camping the whole weekend and after riding through ****ing down rain for a few hours to get there, they ( the stewards ) search our bags etc for gass bottles , we were still getting drenched as there wasn't any cover when one off the stewards went to confiscate my mates mini camping stove fro him. My mate not being in the best off moods and after a few cross words between them started to take the 'burner' section off the gas bottle to then give the bottle to the steward, ( as they couldn't insure that it would still be there when we went to leave ). Once the gas started leaking from the bottle the stewards face looked a bit worried and he started taking a few steps backwards. My mate then put the bottle with the rest off the bottles, camping stoves etc lined up against the hedge, whilst telling them what a 'stupid' rule it was. Food shops inside the circuit are a joke, hot food stalls are a sham, most off the showers where full off human s@%t, not enough screens to see the action and the campsite was at the end off the airport runway !! ![]() Myself and the three mates I went with weren't that impressed, though I went last year ( race day only ) and to be honest it wasn't much better. Worth going to see what it's like but I don't know if I'll go again, I'll be gong to Cataluyna this year though :P |
