tis indeed a hall effect sensor with magnets in the disc rotors and it does drive the speedo.

It looks like the speedo sensor from the front sprocket of a TL so maybe its a TL speedoas well?

IIRC it's a standard SV speedo using the kit available from some guy on SV Rider.

If you look closely at the disc rotors you can see half of them are filled in, they're the magnets

someone on svrider does kits for front end swaps

How much would it cost to get USD forks from a TL on a SV650s?

would it be cheaper or more expensive than getting GSXR forks? they the same forks?

I want UDS forks so much, i could do new springs in current but just dont seem right atm

If I'd done mine cheap (with the GSXR 750 front end)- ie found a wheel the same colour as y rear one, swapped the tyres over, kept the standard master cylinder, not painted the mudguard, and used all SRAD 750 parts- i would have come out of it ahgead on the deal SV parts, in good nick, tend to sell for a good price. Forks and wheels especially, folk are always bending SV forks.

But I didn't, i got carried away and it cost me about £300, all told. That was with a new front Roadtec, new brake pads, a Brembo radial caliper and powdercoating the wheels. Plus, I used K2 forks instead of SRAD, in SRAD yokes, which meant buying individual items instead of a whole front.

But... Compare that with the price of emulators and new springs, for a bigger upgrade and better brakes... Plus the BLING!

Thanks for all the nice comments. I put the front end on my daughter's SV thinking it would be cheap. All told as it sits I have $850 to $900 USD in it. I used Jim Martin's speedo kit and it works perfectly with the stock speedo on the TLS front end.

I built the forks for about $250.00. They are stock TLS forks, I have stock TLR springs in them (.934 kg/mm vs. stock TLS of .74 kg/mm or worse stock SV of about .71 kg/mm) I put in stock Hyabusa spacers and 7 wt. oil, I also installed TLR compression valving, great forks for the money.

I bought the rotors from a 99 Gixxer 750 for about $100.00. The wheel is from a TL1000R, a yellow one, some of them had the exact color wheel the SV has. The axle is much larger than the SV or Katana wheels. The speedo is indeed a Hall Effect sensor I mounted with the kit plate, also the kit included a set of 4 magnets designed to fit inside the rotor rivets. They work great.

The TLS triples are perfect for the SV because they have identical steering stops and the upper has a convenient mounting spot for the modified gauge mount. I also had to make a bracket for the headlight adjuster.

I bought a new 2002 TL1000R front fender for it. The brakes are Stock TLS brakes that I had. The clip ons are stock TLS, and the master cylinder is from a TLR. It is a 5/8 just like the stocker, but is a bit "cooler" than the stocker.

Finally I had to buy a new upper bearing and race for the steering stem, since the SV front end is different. I bought it from twin works factory from Zoran (Turn throttle facking poosey) excellent part, made it truly a bolt on affair.

I recommend this as the bike was transformed, if you ride 'em hard it is a great mod.

Click pictures for a big 'un

I got rid of my TLR in October, it was a 2002, I had wheels, brakes, Penske shock, revalved and re sprung forks, full Yosh system, and several thousand more in mods. I did a lot of track days on her, but I needed a change.

And finally my new toy I got rid of the TLR for
