Joe..I am sure that all will be fine! That is of course if you avoid too many "racey" yarns about parties etc. when having a relaxing drink with the folks afterwards! :P :P

I just keep giving the presentation to myself over and over until I know it inside out. Good luck!

Good luck mate. If they don't like what you're saying, put your biking gear on and beat the crap out of them.

...... Ooops, sorry - getting this mixed up with one of your other posts :P

Last one I did was at a day's notice. I was working for a company in Austria (my German is not very good, my Steierische is even worse!), the Austrian guy who had prepared the presentation went off sick suddenly, I was "asked" to give the presentation...........to a bunch of French engineers.

Maybe fortunately my French is a little better than German, so it was a good excuse to do it in Franglais and apologise for anything lost in the translation. Phew, got away with it, just!

Thanks for all the great advice guys. Before i left i punched "giving presentations" into google and found a whole host of great info too.

Anyway, the journey down was alright. Managed to get some work done which was good.

Got to the hotel, and checked in. Went to the bar, had a meal and a beer.. then over heard two guys talking about my firm so i approached them and introduced them. Turned out they were two of my "favorite friends" so to speak. Id spoken to them on the phone many times, and we got on great - now to meet them was surreal. We drank until about mid night.

I woke up with no hang over (thank god).

Anyaway, jumping to the chase, the presentation id prepared went great. I had a hard act to follow with the guys from Danwoods and Willis doing excellent presentations before me, but i think i held my own.

The subject of my discussion caused lots of conflict amongst the consultants, and i knew that was going to be the case, but i handled it well. Managed to keep my cool, and also managed to keep control of the the meeting with only one small issue where it degenerated into a lot of cross talk after my announcement of a particularly unfavorable issue.

Sitting in the bar at the end of the day with the consultants (all of which i knew fairly well now) they were full of praise, one or two said not to take it personally.. i waiting till we were all around the table and announced "nothing which happened before was taken personally... we're all in it to make money, its a new idea, and there will be disagreements on how things should be done - its inevitable. Nothing is personal.. its just business" and after this they seemed to "accept" me more.

The underlying issue of the 2 days was training and driving things forwards so that we can maximise the consultants business opportunities, and as such, ensure we all get a bigger pay check. All in all it went really good.

On friday i got commended by the consultants as they emailed in their weekly progress reports for my analysis, and also by our MD and CEO who congratulated me on a good presentation.

So... on that note.. when do i get to go again boss?
