Can't make it for a few weeks because of my shift pattern at work, but will hopefully be there soon to put faces to names of some of the Pennine Massive.

Can anyone recommend good roads to Knott End coming from my direction?

Nice one Tim

Only when the sun is shining though? I'm yet to see THAT set of waterproofs in the flesh!

What is it with my telly tubby suit?.

I tend to go over to knott end the "long way" as in.

From my home Through Brindle then turn left past Houghton Tower and hang a right at the boars head and go through Roach Bridge upto Cuerdale lane and then for a fast blast down the A59 to Ribchester.

Just before you get into Ribchester turn right up gallows lane and then turn left onto Longridge Road. Take the second right an unnamed road that take you over Jeffery and drops you down by Thornley turn left toward Longridge.

Turn right at the Alston Arms and follow the road all the way down to the A6 at Bilsborrow, a quick left/right will take you past Quys Court and the Myrscough college and into St Michaels Turn left down Rawcliffe Road and follow this all the way to Hambleton where you turn right through Stalmine and Preesall upto Knott End.

Othe possible deviations are instead of going from Billborrow to St Michaels, nip up the A6 to Garstang and head uptowards Cockerham and then accross to Preesall.

There are a number of routes up there the quickest is to head towards Blackpool from the A6 and the accross the bridge over the Wyre (Used to be the old shard toll bridge) but watch out as it is a nice fast bit as you go towards the bridge and the speed camera lot play very dirty by hiding behind hedges

I think the Cockerham / Preesall route is the way I ended up going last year at some point. I'd only just got the bike and was kind of riding around aimlessly and arrived at knott end by accident - I only realised where i was because the instructor had taken us there for lunch while doing my DAS!

I know the bit around myerscough college as well cos a mate was studying there a couple of years ago.

All this is making me itch to get out for a ride, but I'm stuck in work at the moment

When it's in full flow, there tends to be a least one of us there every week
