This is my first post. Is this forum mainly based in Europe?? I'm in the U.S. What restructions??? I topped my 650s at 10k rpm's at 137mph. Just wanted to see what she'll do. Don't plan on doing it again.

Hiya, the sv will feel like a huge jump but you'll soon get used to the extra power. Give it time to get used to the handling. i role a 125 scoot before the sv and corners can feel quite scarey at first. I think this is partly due to the fact that the sv is quite long. Practice, practice practice. I used to do all sharp corners in first and crawl around them sometimes needing the clutch if I was going that slow! however you will soon get to know how the bike feels in corners and get more confident. Do it at your own pace, you'll get there |

Being a new rider I had my k6 restricted from new till not long after the first service...
(I now use it unrestricted for 'Track-Use' only of course ![]() Restricted: 113 mph (7.5k RPM) Unrestricted: 140 mph (10.5k RPM) (Red Line is 11k RPM) Main difference is the length of time it takes... When it's restricted, you open it up and it feels like it's being bogged down and really unhealthy. Unrestricted it feels like it's running properly ![]() (For anyone not in the UK... if you have had your full bike licence under 2 years {or haven't completed a 'Direct Access' course for those over 21} you have to have the bike restricted to 33bhp... officially :P) |

![]() FOr curvey's there are 2 methods, one stops the carb sliders from opening all the way, TSM did a "how to" on removing these but they are quite uncommon. More usually popping the carbs off will show you a metal disc between the carb and engine block restricting airflow, pop it out, refit carbs and done. ![]() TSM's guide is here: http://forums.sv650.org/viewtopic.ph...ht=restriction
