Well, that's nice.

Well done on the job too!

Pah! I don't know when the last time I got to chill at home was. It certainly wasn't in the last 2 years.

Ok, to celebrate, I'm going to put a piece of metal through an as yet undecided part of my body.
I want the forum to decide where, but not a PA.

Congratulations on the job. Swindon's rubbish, but at least you can use all the bus lanes there on a bike. Watch out for all the roundabouts, they love them. Head north for 15 mins to around cirencester and there are some spectacular biking roads.

I definitely got the impression that Swindon wasn't the place to be, but unfortunately, I have little choice.
The Redhead requires that we live in a town big enough to support at least a couple of clubs and the office being out in the sticks somewhere east of Devizes limits the choice to Salisbury or Swindon and I can't afford to live in Salisbury (or want to put up with the traffic)

I was happy in the haze of a drunken hour
But heaven knows I’m miserable now

I was looking for a job, and then I found a job
And heaven knows I’m miserable now

Ah no. Have as much fun as you can at your job.
Its going to be at least a big part of your life for the forseeable future.

I'm happy to be working for the people I will be. It's a very small (but extremely successful) company so my rises are closely linked to how well we all do. I also work directly with the managing director. We're the only two technical people working on what is now a substantial piece of software.
There's also the very real possibility that one of the mega-corporations we work with (Philips, GE, etc) may make an offer to buy us out in the future, which could mean a massive step up the ladder for me when a position in the new company is sorted out.

All in all, I don't think I could have done much better as my first job out of uni.
