If there's a keylogger, changing the password once I'm home might be too late

{EDIT: I've just seen that I can only pay out funds that have been "added" to my PayPal account. I'll only add the amount needed and then change the password once I get home }

(I wish I'd just done bankers draft to start with...)

be very very careful Terence

this sounds way way too dodgy to me, a friend of mine lost 1,100 quid in a similar deal.

you have been warned

take a laptop and dial in at his house to the net. DO NOT use his machine, or you are asking for trouble really.

best of luck in your transaction mate

Ternece if you feel at all uncomfortable with what going on just tell the guy you want to pay cash and thats that, remeber than your the buyer and the seller should be jumping for you not the other way round.

I have never heard of a private seller not accepting cash, specialy when you consider he going to pay a commision on the money though paypal.

Sorry to keep saying this but it does sound like a con of some description.

There are loads of sv's on ebay and the open market and all your going to lose is 1 point of a feedback rating

I have never been scammed but i bought payed to much for a car once, if i had just sat back and not listened to the dealer I would have seen the problems and walked.

Default UPDATE:

Good news guys... buyer emailed and will now accept cash!

Drew the money at lunch time today and will collect my baby tomorrow.

I can't wait

And yes I will keep a clear head and inspect the bike properly before forking out the moolah

Oooh yeah!

Going to pick her up this afternoon. Weather is lousy (gusty wind and drizzle), but I'm walking on sunshine!

I forgot my camera at home but will take some phone pics and see if they come out OK, better pics to follow...

Default Got it

for those of you who've lived through the saga with me thusfar...

I picked up my curvy blue V-reg this afternoon!

The bike was outside under a cover. When the cover came off I queitly said "ahhh"... nothing like a SV in the metal.

The bike hadn't been ridden for a while...
spiderwebs - check
dust everywhere - check
low tire pressure - didn't check

Went through 4 page checklist and everything was OK, did the paper-work and handed over the dosh. £2200 for a v-plate with ony 6500 miles on the clock... not too shabby if I say so myself.

When I rode off I had a moment almost immediately (see earlier point about not checking tire pressure). The first corner I took, luckily at slow speed, revealed a squelchy front which made me wobble like a learner rider. Looking around I was glad to see no-one noticed I stopped off at the garage and put in some sorely needed air. Pressure in the front was 19! Back was 21 so I topped that up too.

The rest of the ride was uneventful but loads of fun. The tourquey power delivery is everything I hoped it would be, riding position felt quite "forward" but not as hunched over as my GSX600R, and the sound (even with a factory can) is Glorious! I have her a good wash when I got home and can't wait to show her off at work tomorrow... Sod that, I can't wait to RIDE to work tomorrow!

Just one wierd thing... when I got home and took my helmet off, I noticed two small bumps on either side of my head. They're hard, red and pointy and they're growing larger by the minute. Are these my horns?

They are indeed my friend. We never know when they are likely to sprout. For some it happens very very rarely. For others they appear as soon as they get on their SV. Strange phenomenon known to all SV riders.
