Same reason I can't probably.

This just means I never get to be the first to answer anything - I have to preview everything at least twice as it's usually embarrassingly unreadable first time 'round.

So I type on this forum etc. Then when i later read my comments, I am shocked. My spelling is awful. Letters have jumped in front of each other etc.

So please. Anyone who has ever read any of my posts and thought that Tim is illiterate. I am not. I simply cannot type.

I suppose I must get in the habit of using the spell checker, now that we have one.

See what you need is a qwerty keyboard from the age of about 5. If you use said device for numerous hours per day, you will be able to type without looking at either the keyboard or the screen and hold a conversation with a colleagues about something completely different to whatever you are typing.

Although I still cant spell.

The answer is: "Because you are a bloke."

It's the same reason as to why you can't knit, darn, wash-up, bake cakes, change nappies.........

urgh, qwerty keyboards are those that are split in half and twisted slightly aren't they? I touch type and I just can't use those nasty keyboards.

I didn't have access to one at the age of 5 (I'm too old ) but I can touch type without looking at screen or keyboard and hold a conversation. Drives people at work nuts

How about you learn to touch type? Always a handy skill.

Nah, qwerty's just a standard UK/US keyboard. It's short for qwertyuiop, which as any geek knows is the top line of the board. Try typing on an averty keyboard for half your day and a proper one for the rest, it will make you very angry, all the time.

My typing online's terrible for transposed letters and missed characters. To be totally honest, it's because I don't care I 4-finger type incredible fast, faster than a lot of touch typists, just from practice... But it does make a noise like a hailstorm...
