Yeah thats the only bloody problem now, running it in
Being gentle on running in is old school. If you want top BHP then be gentle for first 50 miles to run of all the burrs. Then change oil and filter and make sure it is ordinary mineral oil. Now give it some welly for the next 500 miles. This way the rings will get properly bedded in and the ring grooves wont be caked in soot and oil sludge. Race engine producers have shown that this makes a big difference, by as much as 10% power difference or more. A recent article in the bike press also showed that gentle running in hardly made any difference to the overall lifespan of the engine.

So in my opinion, Go for it!

Default R6 test ride.

Thought it would be easier to high jack this thread than start a new one (sorry) well test rode a 2005 R6 today....

My verdict;

This bike is mind blowing, it was easy to corner and it has a phenominal engine that is more than eager to please. I absolutely loved it and at £5'799 new, it was a steal. This aside...i won't be buying one..after 30 minutes my wrists were soar and i couldnt feel my groinal area, not to mention my backside. As much as i love this bike i am going to have to look else where.

I rode the CBR600F for an hour after, but i wont comment on that as i know its already been talked about.
