Heh, that looks familiar Do you find kids like it more like that than with the plastics? I always got a great reaction from anyone under about 12 years of age, anyone older was too busy trying to steal my waller.

Ooh, don't agree with that... The later ones with the full adjustment were nearly as good, but not better. The earlier ones were inferior. Both had cruder valve stacks... But were slightly better valved for road use than the 750, which were stiffer, but that's setup not quality.

FWIW the SRAD 750 internals remained nearly unchanged until 2003.

Not to slag off the 600 forks- they're still a hell of an upgrade. Said this to TSM, but I reckon the cost saving of going with SRAD 600 forks would be enough, in a lot of cases, to get the forks revalved with something like a 2550 kit, which would undeniably make them better thatn the USD ones.

Do the 4pots have shims on the back of the pads? I cant see any on the parts diagrams for the SRAD. The pads sound like they knock in the calipers. Rictus said that some aftermarket pads such as the EBC may not be an exact fit and so causes the knocking. Not a big issue but annoying.

I got the same problem, i don't think they do because of the big springy steel inspection cover on the back

Hmm, my calipers are different, though similiar- they don't have shims, but then they also don't rattle. That's with Tokico and Armstrong pads.

Are the RWU's not slightly lighter than the USD's too?

I mean overall weight, not unsprung.

Think so... smaller yokes, thinner tubes, etc.

I have been having this thought of mating a top half of a GSXR K3-4 on the SV. Now that will be odd looking.

The entire RWU setup is not that much heavier than the standard forks. The yokes are much lighter than the stock, the SRAD bottom yoke is hollow compared to the stock solid part, and the stem feals lighter.

Wheel's lighter too. But the discs are heavier. I did some weighing for the USD ones, which I promptly lost, but the total package is lighter than standard- and this should be lighter still. SV yokes are like anchors...

The main thing is to have lower unsprung weight. RWU forks may be lighter overall, but the heavier fork lower may add to the weight around the spindle and extra unsprung. USD forks can be heavier, but more of the mass is suspended by the spring.
On the road don't think it'll make much difference.
