That wouldve been you're fault. As would swerving around dogs, cats or being hit in by a low flying bird.

Whoa there tiger! And you couldnt have accidentally killed him? It could have killed me on a bad day or anyone with numerous medical conditions.

That sort of thing activity amongst teenagers is not by any means new. Teenagers do stupid things.

I do not condone their actions. I hate the current attitude of the youth of today and would quite gladly give them a good kicking in many cases. I'm just saying the sentence is probably appropriate.
I think his point is that if they hadnt done the wrong thing in the 1st place then he would not have had to do what he did.
A moral sense that throwing a tennis ball at someones car as they are driving is just not a good thing to do.

More of these little *****s need to remember the phrase "treat people how you expect to be treated".

And i'd love to know how they would act if someone did the same to them when they were old enough to drive. Would they just shrug it off and say "Ah, kids" or would they drive back and stab him for "dissin" their car?

Have you ever been in a car with someone who's swerved with a bird etc? I'm sure you have. It doesn't seem to be a conscious decision with some of them. If they'd reacted the same with the ball and hit someone, would that have been their fault or the fault of the person who'd chucked the ball?
What if it hadnt been thrown on purpose and had been kicked by teens playing? Thats got to have happened thousands of times. It's irrelevant what the intention was, the person driving the car is still in charge of the vehicle.

Whos fault would it have if the person who's wind pipe you were crushing died? Surely the person who chucked the ball at you. Must have had it coming to them......

Accidents happen. He's got 18 months minimum and i'm sure he deserves every last one.

Personally i hate the parole system. A sentence is a sentence. There should be no half measures.

Agree on that point

We can argue the toss on the previous point all day and get nowhere, I can see your point of view, I just believe that rough justice often works for young lads (bearing in mind I'm 24) and it often teaches lessons very quickly.

had you down as being a LOT older than that lee!

Sorry Bro!

I think the young kid should have got a longer sentence as well. I know you said why ruin the kids life but by direct action this kid has pretty much ruined the dead guys life wouldn't you say?

Does anyone remember the incident with the brick being thrown off a bridge killing a lorry driver (well he died of a heart attack actually caused by shock but still). Well I knew of this kid, not a bad kid just your typical teenager, i.e. stupid. Well he got 5 years for that act and I totally agree with the sentence. It has really changed him and I very much doubt he will be so stupid in the future. Maybe the sentence was hard but the result of his stupidity was also very hard, someone died.

There are too many cases of young kids thinking they can go around doing what they like and giving people grief and getting no comeback. There are loads around my area and I was off work the other day and saw a bunch of kids walking down the middle of the main road while cars were coming at them and they just refused to get onto the footpath. Not one single car beeped them as they were far too scared (kids in my area have a reputation for causing trouble in gangs). They just stopped until the kids decided that it was no longer fun. Yet if one of them had been mowed down it would have been a 'tragic' accident. If that were me I would have given them a right mouthful. Mindyou kids in my area now think I'm a steroid using nut case (and no I don't use steroids). I saw one of them kick my cat across the road so I ran out in my vest and pinned the little ****er to the wall, he had about 10 mates with him but now I just give them a look and they cross the street. Sometimes these people only understand one language. PAIN!

It all boils down to our courts. I totally agree that this lad should get longer, or just make sure that he does his FULL time, I think 5 years is long enough if he were to do it all. Not sure about all the violence tho, violence only promotes violence so not sure about that one but I do believe that tougher sentences are needed.

One example.... and sorry if some people are offended (yes me again! )

The guy the raped the 3 month old baby got 3 years so he'll probably be out in 18 months too. Sorry but that guy deserves a far longer sentence (like LIFE imprisonment!) and he deserves everything he gets coming to him and more!

Time should mean Time and definately longer in most cases!

Sorry rant over!
