Has anyone here tested this guy's method? Makes interesting reading bit I'd hate to try it and it turns out he's wrong.... He also says his method will work on any IL4, so I worder about V twins.

He claims the method is suitable for all 4 stroke engines. Don't know what to think...

A fiend who is an ex racer says do not use synthetic oil for running but use ordinary oil at first so the metlas get a chance to bed in properly.
And I would go along with that web site to some extent.

I'd sooner own a bike that had been broken in like that, than broken in at a constant 5000 rpm or whatever, as some idiots insist on doing. "I'll break it in in 6th on the motorway" That way lies Trouble.

My own bike was a demo machine- it was run in normally for 500 miles, given the first service, then let loose on the public, so it probably got run hard from 501 miles. It's not suffered in the least- though it's only on about 27,000 miles, ask me again in another 73,000

i was in the "have i done the right thing" frame of my mind for the first 24 hours or so, but now the roads are dry, all doubts have gone...................mwahhhahhhaaaa

i do agree that its ugly , but the right kind of ugly, i think its growing on me, and not like mould.......... i honestly think that my blue sv was the best lloking bike ive seen yet.

i could look at it for hours, i think its like the first girlfriend thing, you might be going out with a supermodel/porn star/whatever now, but you still think that the ordinary girl next door you first went out with was a bit special.

so if my SV was the girl next door, My Kwak is an axe wielding divorcee with a penchant for S+M ant hot wax, who likes rubber, well she'd have to with an expected 3000 miles from a rear tyre................................

I ran the GSXR in like that. Up to and past momentarily my running limit. Varied the RPM and ran it up and down the gearbox. Havent had any problems yet.

Welcome to the world of real bikes

You should have got an R model, nobody calls them ugly

As for rear tyre wear, mines just about ok after 4000 miles so far.
