It's quite possible that one of us has put them on back to front

I quite like the fact that the new style absorbed the shock and bent, rather than snapping off and disappearing down the road liek the old ones did

You can get replacements direct from R&G, cheaper than buying a new set

That's a good idea - I shall mention this to them

Personally I had the old style RnGs on the SV, which were used and then were replaced with the new style bracket jobs which were also tried and tested. The bungs are designed to come off to prevent stress to the frame IIRC and all three times the RnGs saved the frame, radiator and bodywork.

You can buy seperate bungs etc direct from RnGs themselves or from a dealer, they don't cost much.

Default R&G

Hi After looking at the photo yes they are fitted the wrong way around if you log on to the R&G web site you can see the fitting info you use the mid bolt and the front bolt to hold them in place , fitted as they are they must have been hard up on your knees.

Mr Toad has a SV1000, which seems to mount differently to the sv650. I was just pointing out that from a geometric point of view, having the bungs closer to the rad seems to make more sense in terms of having a chance of saving it. Then again I have a faired SV and the last time that was on it's side (no bungs) it was the bar end, indicator and gear shift that took the brunt. Maybe the rad's on nakeds are more vulnerable?

Default Whoops

Doh sorry about that I didn't see the twin pipe it looks like the SV1000 R&G bungs fit to the rear engine bolts where the 650 fits to the front bolts. I wonder why.
Sorry Jono

I've had a good look at Haxsaw's R&G's and I think I prefer the way they are amount.

As for bendy bolts, here's hoping I never find out!

Thanks for the input guys!
