Hmmm, you've got me thinking now.
The leather I use for tooling isn't very 'stretchy' lke garment leather or some suedes... ... but it is suitable for cold water moulding, or Cuir Boille (sp?) which is how I make the armoured greaves and breastplates. So given the right grade, I reckon it could be used and moulded round a seat, at least to the edges, then stitched to another piece of leather that would continue on underneath. I wouldn't rely on the waterproofing of any suitable finishes though and so unless you want to be sitting on a sponge I still have the usual vinyl seat cover on underneath. But, yeah, I reckon it's doable. I might have to experiment with the SV or FireBlade now. ![]() |
