I get it a lot on a road by me you can filter and still be comfortably on you side of the road but some times there is traffic parked on the other side and even though there is still pleant of room for me to filter and the on coming traffic get passed the parked cars people seem to stop and flash at me like I have left them no room to get through. Strangely it seems to people in Micras/Ka's etc that have the most problem the bigger cars just come straight through.

Thats because idiots in Micras/Kas have no idea how wide their car is. 4x4 drivers have no idea how wide their car is either, but they're also comlpetely blind so wont spot you and therefore, wont flash you

Grinch, if you have passed these cars, how come you are checking to see if they flash? Are you sure its not the glint of sunlight on your mirrors?

Don't you look in your mirrors then... I like to know whats going on behind as well at front (looking for those blue lights).

Yeah, frequently, but not immediately after I just passed something (might glance to the side as I'm going past). Usually looking for my next victim I don't think I'd notice someone flashing me straight after I passed them unless I was there for a few seconds as I'd be looking ahead. You sure you are not cutting in and braking hard whilst adjusting your lid in the mirror??

I normally like to check to ensure they haven't just gunned up my **** as I went past and to ensure I have space to move into once I've gone past. Along with a shoulder check... don't everyone?

Grinch, didn't mean to make you doubt yourself mate. I usually shoulder check but I guess I know if I passed at a certain speed whether they could be behind me or not but I would concentrate more on going forward. If I passed very slowly I'd check as I pulled in (but I wouldn't pull in if I thought it was tight) but with cars flashing you maybe you are pulling in tighter/sooner than they expect you to? I don't know without seeing but maybe a bikesafe session would answer the question for you - I really can't remember being flashed.
