Wow, thanks for all the replies folks. Much appreciated. I could go to the boss and put my side across but the fella (X) I was arguing with, well he doesn't work with me anymore but he's still up the boss' **** big time. The two of them are best buddies. Now whilst the boss might not be able to do anything to me officially, he can still make life awkward and given the fact that I've been pretty ****ed off with the job for the last year I just don't think it's worth sticking around any longer. Maybe that's why I had a go at X today. Maybe I already knew I was leaving and thought I'd say what I'd wanted to say for 18 months. I'm just glad I made it home with all my teeth in my head and no black eyes. And coming home after being out tonight and seeing all my windows intact was also a great relief. X will have been round to my boss' house tonight so by the time I go in tomorrow my boss will already have in his head what happened before I say a word.

I don't fancy not having a job and I've sweet FA qualifications. This job is all I know but given the influence my boss has in this field of work the chances of me finding similar work in NI is little to none.
