Oh Petey.
I thought you would have been occupied with your teenage mutant ninja girlfriend thread, and saved the rest of the forum from your attentions.

How sadly wrong I was.

A scamp to the last.

I recommend Clogs.

Not the foot variety but that nice chap who lives in the North and used to have a KTM. When I slipped off the Buell on a diesel spill and banged my knee, the broad-shouldered big hunk kindly carried me up several hills to the nearest hostelry.

I have thought that if ever I took up hill-walking, I should like to use him again to carry me around. Then I could enjoy the view whilst wearing my rather fetching gold-sequined Turkish slippers that a former lover gave me.

As for real walking, it gives you unpleasant-looking feet.

I see where you're coming from looking down the leather route, however in the height of summer, leather can get a bit warm, and i just find fabric boots more suited to what im looking for. If i do start to walk in colder climates at later/earlier times of the year, then ill look for something like brashers. I should really get a pair of boots and a pair of trainers however it comes down to cost really.

Ahh, ok, well, you can get these Hiker trainer things. My gf got them, and loves them. She got Merrells. They look like really rugged runners. Decent heel and ankle support. Do exactly what they say on the tin too.
Something like this, only not as high...
