The cameras between Jun 15 and 16 are also sometimes moved. One time they will be on one gantry, go down the same stretch of the motorway a few weeks later and you can find that it is no longer on the same gantry but on the next one for example.

Obviously not hailing from that part of the world I very rarely use the M25. But the few times I have I have found the variable speed a real pain in the **** and obviously set for revenue generation, sort of 40mph when there is light traffic etc.

The same with those on the M42. I can understand the need for reducing speed when there are roadworks in operation, beyond that it would be nice for the department of transport to think outside the box and conduct a genuine experiment as to the effect of increasing the motorway speed to 100mph and permitting "undertaking".

The M6 toll where many users exceed the above suggested limit seems to flow extreamly well and as a daily user I have yet to see an accident

Between the A3 and M3 (J10-J12) almost (but not all) gantry's have cameras, so no more that 10mph over the posted limit max. From the M3 to the M4 (J15) I have only seen 1 camera.

.
I was junction 14 to the m40 junction (18?) and went both ways, so fingers cross I could be alright. Kicking myself now because i'm normally very good with the cameras.

Time will tell i suppose

B*gger,

I was caning it through this section (J7, M23, clockwise to M40 junction) in my car at about six this morning. I'm not a regular user of the M25 at all. There were faster cars in front of me and I didn't see any flashes so I thought it was ok. Keeping my fingers crossed they weren't working!!

I've never been done by a camera and I've got no points on my licence, but just out of interest (I do not think for one moment this is about to happen to me!), do you reckon you could go from 0 to ban in one journey? ie, get done by 4 or 5 cameras and get enough cumulative points to lose your licence? Anyone know anyone this has happened to?

Just a thought!

Cheers,
Matt

As far as I am aware if the sign isn't on then the camera isn't active.

I have a feeling they cant zap you doing national speed limit on a Motorway, I will have a look at the legal stuff at work see If i can back that up.
