Default WD-40?!

I'm at a language deficit here, but you need some sort of "safety solvent". In the US there is a product called BraKleen, but any non-lubricating electrical contact cleaner will work well.

sounds like brake cleaner

bit of an update, i tried using the brake a lot on the way home, riding a bit with it on, etc and it has improved a LOT. i'd say it's condition has gone from about 20% to 75% ish, i'm not sure it's completely back to normal but it's certainly the majority of the way there. so, i haven't cleaned it or anything (checked the disk before i left and it was seriously not greasy!).

i may get some more pads sometime anyway, not a big thing to change them, but for now i think the brake is fine - probably be back to normal after tomorrow!

also managed to get an interesting "lock the rear wheel" moment when i was slowing for a junction using only the rear! haha...couldn't do that this morning when it was still f*cked...
