Sorry to see you go mate, but it's your decision and only you know what feels right.

It's a cliche i know, but let's hope this is 'au revoir' rather than goodbye

Northy & Jonboy,

I will try an explain my quote.

Basically, I had not long bought the bike, when I was in the period of "taking it nice n slow" along the M4 as it was one of my first journey's using the SV. When the gear selector decided to snap clean off, and drag itself along the M4 tarmac, thus causing the bike to pull to one side, and me not be able to slow down enough to pull over quickly.
Then, the tyres kept with the standard dunlops until replacing them with "British made" dunlops, only to find not a lot of difference in the wet.
So changed again.
I really could go on and on, but don't have the heart to put the folks on here off what they enjoy most
I guess I was expecting a lot more for my money, I know it's at the budget end of biking, but something tells me things shouldn't fall off after less than 500 miles on the clock.
There is also Suzuki themselves, to which I have had a few conversations with (Big Ape) about, not too impressed with their customer service, the same goes for the number of dealerships that the bike has been to for servicing.

But most importantly is the fact that reality hit home, when I looked at how much gear I had spent money on, fixing this n that, replacing this n that...
it didn't make any difference in cost saving.
Then the other factors of, doing 200 miles a day on 2 wheels. My back is starting to show signs of the "Hunched" back. The fumes from cars has given me Asthma, to which I have in my 34 years never had before??
And another major factor is. And I know I shouldn't say this, but I'm sure there are many folk on here that do the same.
The same rigmarole every morning putting on your stuff, and wondering if I will ever come home, kissing the Mrs, say tara to the dogs, and taking a sneak look at the kids in their beds before making the 100 mile journey to work.
I know it's my choice. And you folks may be thinking, what a nobba!

But I like my little life, as I said earlier, and reality hit home last week, when I rode past a bloke on the opposite side of the carriageway on the M4. Paramedics stood around him, police...you know the score.. Sorry!

I guess it's all mounted up, and I get grief from both sides of the family.

I guess that's it really, for the folks that enjoy it, I can totally understand, the fun weekend run is fab! but commuting, through some of the worst traffic in Brittain, and trying to keep it upright, takes a toll on the brain, specially avoiding the people that I personally think shouldn't have a licence, let alone near a car.

Thats it folks.

Cheers - Mass

Sory about the long reply folks

I understand that.I would'nt commute those distances on a bike either and I happen to know it's been a really bad week for bike accidents in this region.Take it easy.

Cheerio Mass.

I know what your saying about the cost of biking, it should be cheaper but somehow doesn't work out that way.

And how seeing a bad crash can put you off. I ride differently when i've got a g/f cos i don't want her to be getting a visit from the police so with wife and kiddies that must be magnified a hell of a lot.

Pop into idle banter tho

*whispers*

I'm sure there's people on there who have never ridden a bike

Like they all said, take it easy. I'm sure most of us have been through that very road before, and in the end it really is your decision.

But... you'll still be welcome here. I guess I speak for everyone if I say we'll also understand if it makes it easier on your decision to keep away from the forums.

Whatever you chose... live it to the limit. Enjoy your kids and family, both you and them deserve it.

I hear ya, by the time you pay insurance, license tags, gear, etc you have to really justify the price. I broke both lower leg bones 9 weeks ago going only 5 MPH, so I am wondering if its worth it as well. Mark in the USA.
