As a car driver - agreed

Agree on both counts

Not sure of the moral of this little fable but it goes to show not all drivers have your best intentions in mind.
In the situation i just back off and let them get on with it, or just give them a no type wave.

I once had a guy in Jag move over for me, but every time I went to overtake he thought it was funny to move right across into the middle of the road and block me.

Always tend to give a nod to people.

Cars that wait at junctions get a nod, cars that pull over generally get a wave but if not possible get a sideways nod. When generally filtering past traffic Im concentrating on doing that so dont really.

When in Wales and just got my bike I loved the nod to everyone, everyone nods back - always brought a smile to my face. In the 2 weeks Ive been in London I nod to most bikers and I've had about 3 people nod back.

Soon as youn get over the outside of the M25 this seems to improve.

Well advanced rider chums you are not supposed to take your hands off the bars when riding...maybe lose control maybe...or speed

When 'I am on a mission' it's difficult to wave. :P

DanDare, that's a pet hate of mine... People telling you when to overtake, then taking the pip when you don't.

Me, I like to give a cub scout salute.

I'd say 99.9% get a wave. I hate it when other bikers don't acknowledge drivers that have been helpful.

Cheers

I generally tend to give people at junctions the 'thank you for not squashing me' wave. And filtering gets a wave too, which is a bit of a pain when you get a long string of nice people. I must look rather stupid from behind. :P
