One was your flat mate attacking your bike with her Ipod, and knicking a mountain bike is darn site easier than an SV.

This is from a man who has left his keys in his bike parked in a london bike bay, also on the seafront in brighton, and a couple of other places and returned to the bike still there.

The best security i ever done on the bike, is spraying it totaly different colours. This way if the parts turn up then it would be identifiable. Locks dont work, alarms dont work, nor do imobilisers!! They are detrenets, but would never stop a determined thief.

That, and my bike is insured.

If it makes you sleep safely at night then go for it

Still anything is better than nothing. Stops the opportunists at least. My immobiliser stopped kids trying to take my GPz, they cracked the top yoke twisting the steering lock off though but they may not have even bothered trying if I had but either my chain or disc lock on.

See, I've done it again!

And if anyone does want to try te Steal-Dirk's-Bike-Challenge (please DON'T!!!) let me know in advance so that I know to use the lump of wood on you not the samurai sword (mates rates!). I'll also glean off the petrol from teh tank & air in the ties for use in my replacement bike!!
