No way, you can et insurance if you're not the owner, you just have to have an interest in it i.e. somthin to do with it like it's your son's.

OK you're right ins company's are stupid.
i got one theoretical quote through Devitt. Underwriters Equity Red Star.
Quote was £915 if my son was the registered owner, £225 if I was.
If you want it that badly, go with them.

If it was spouse , wouldn't have affected it as much.

rang up some more, they say no as the other person may have no financial intrest in the bike, im like so what, there paying for the isnurance, surly it shouldnt matter,

still if anyone knows any comapnys will insure you on a bike you dont own then please say

o we would get me insured wiht my dad as second rider if we had to, problem is we need him to earn his own no claims bonus

How about getting a loan secured on the bike registered in your Dad's name, then it wouldn't be as attractive to your mum. (your Dad taking a loan out to buy from you sounds more feasible than sellin it for a pound)

Just another angle?
